General Purpose & Dielectrics
By combining silicone-lubricating fluids with various thickeners, grease and grease-like compounds with unique physical properties and performance characteristics are created. Novagard is a leading manufacturer of these silicone greases and compounds, which are ideally suited for use in hostile environments and critical lubrication applications.
Under most circumstances, silicone-based products provide for a longer service life than many other materials currently availableNovagard silicone compounds are non-curing, grease-like materials designed for a diverse scope of applications. These silicone compounds are silicone fluids thickened with inorganic fillers.
Novagard silicone compounds exhibit excellent adherence to varying materials, often adhering under conditions where a fluid would easily drop or spin off. They offer maximum coverage without requiring excessive amounts of product.
These products will function as general purpose compounds, dielectric compounds or thermally conductive compounds.
G624
Novagard G624 is a general purpose compound; formulated specifically for use as a water repellent coating to prevent corrosion, especially in critical applications that require good dielectric properties.
G624 offers superior corrosion protection to many metal substrates. Proven compatibility with a wide range of plastics and elastomeric materials. Conform to SAE AS-8660 (formerly Mil-S-8660C).

Resistance to moisture, corrosion and oxidation
Wide temperature range -55C to +150C (-65F to +300F)
Conforms to SAE AS-8660 (formerly Mil-S-8660C)
G635
Novagard G635 is an excellent dielectric compound with good moisture barrier and corrosion resistance properties. Among other applications, G635 has been used successfully on high voltage insulators, connectors, disconnect junctions, automobile and aircraft ignitions systems and other electronic equipment.
Outstanding water repellent and dielectric compound
Wide temperature range -57C to +204C (-70F to +300F)
Hydrolytically stable and low toxicity
Oxidation and radiation resistant
G661
Novagard G661 is truly a general purpose compound. It is ideal for sealing and protecting electrical connections above and below ground; however, the materials unique dual nature, lubricity and sealing support a long list of applications.

G687
Designed for use as a dielectric compound on high voltage insulators, Novagard G687 reduces the opportunity for dirt and moisture to create arcing across the insulator. G687 prevents the formation of a conducting film of water thereby eliminating any arc-over under wet conditions.
The silicone engulfs and encapsulates any water-borne, hydrophilic particles so that the insulator remain water repellent even in dusty, high conductive atmospheres. G687 is also an excellent mold release and rubber lubricant. The compound may be applied by wiping, brushing or by spraying.
Ideal for high voltage insulators to prevent flashover
Excellent dielectric ad water repellent
Good adherence
Chemically inactive and low toxicity
G697
Using G697 as a lubricant on unpainted threaded, or non-threaded, ferrous metal surfaces will help prevent corrosion, and maintain the condition of the substrate. Also recommended as a lubricant for rubber components such as O-rings and gaskets that have low to medium swelling characteristics. Conforms to Mil-C-21567A.
Excellent rubber and plastic lubricant

Material Compatability
Generally, silicone materials have the following impact on material properties:
Silicone Rubber – Tends to swell, soften and decrease in tensile strength
Fluoro Rubber – No effect
Organic Rubber – Sight shrinkage, hardening and loss of physical properties
Plastic – No effect on polycarbonate, phenolic, polystyrene nylon, methacrylics or PTFE. Slight swelling or shrinkage may occur in polyacetal, polyethylene, polypropylene or PVC
Handling and Safety
Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Technical Data Sheets (TDS) are available from Novagard Solutions. You can download SDS and TDS sheet by visiting the MDS/TDS page.
Cleanup of silicone greases and compounds can be accomplished using non-polar solvents such as mineral spirits. They are soluble in Stoddard solvent, toluene and xylene. Caution should be observed whenever handling solvents.
Silicone greases are not suitable for use in contact with high concentrations of oxygen or highly oxidative materials. Contact with high pressure oxygen, ozone, peroxided or fuming nitric acid can result in fire or explosion. Silicone materials are damaged by exposure to strong mineral acids (e.g. sulfuric, hydrochloric, nitric), strong alkaline (e.g. sodium or potassium hydroxides), nitrates or peroxides.
